This year, the summer trends are all about putting the focus on the eyes and combining the natural, no-makeup look we all know and love with a bright pop of color. Think: colored eyeliner with bare lips; clean, glowing skin with a bright blush on the cheeks. After all, if we're going to be spending more time conversing with friends and family over FaceTime or Zoom calls, we might as well let our makeup be a fun talking point.

"A lot of people are letting their brows grow out during this time," celebrity makeup artist Shannon Pezzetta told POPSUGAR. "Just get some brow gel, instead of trying to fill them in."

Summer 2020 Makeup Trend: Bold, Single-Colored Eye Shadow

Are you sensing a theme here? The makeup this summer is all about getting the most out of the fewest number of products. Celebrity and editorial makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes predicted, "Bold pops of color on the eye with one single color on the lids." Get high-color payoff by swiping on a powder eye-shadow formula with your finger tip or opting for a creamy liquid eye shadow for a saturated color.

Summer 2020 Makeup Trend: Dewy, Pink Cheeks

Summer's "It" product: cream blush. Move your powdered formulas to the back of your makeup vanity, and make room for dewy, cream, or gel-like textures. Pezzetta said blush is the easiest way to add a flush of color to your complexion, even if it's just for a walk around the block.

Trade your traditional black and brown formulas for a fun, bright color of mascara this summer. Nothing makes your eyes pop like a coat of blue or pastel on your eyelashes. Pezzetta said this is a quick and easy way to add color to your look without breaking out the eye shadow or liner.
