Low-key milk-bath nails [2] may be all the rage among celebrities this year, but Vanessa Hudgens's latest manicure is much more glitzy. The "Tick, Tick . . . Boom!" star recently attended the LuisaViaRoma x UNICEF charity gala [3] in Italy rocking rose-gold chrome nails [4] that instantly reignited our love for the trendy metallic hue. Hudgens's nails perfectly matched and nearly outshone her custom Michael Kors Collection dress [5], which was hand-embroidered with more than two million recycled paillette sequins.
The "High School Musical" alum's reflective nails were brought to life by Zola Ganzorigt [6], the mastermind behind Hailey Bieber's famous glazed-doughnut manicure [7]. After the UNICEF gala, the Los Angeles-based nail artist posted a close-up Instagram video to show off her handiwork and the subtle distressed effect on the surface of each chrome, almond-shaped nail. Ganzorigt has yet to share how she created the shiny manicure, but seeing as fans requested a tutorial in the comments, we're hoping she reveals the products and more details soon.
Chrome manicures have been one of the hottest nail-art trends of 2022 [8], gracing the fingertips of celebrities like Zendaya [9], Megan Thee Stallion [10], Demi Lovato [11], and Halle Bailey [12] in a variety of lustrous colors beyond just silver and gold. Plus, some stars have put an edgy twist on the trend with chrome french manicures [13], which feature shiny polish on solely the tip of each nail. The possibilities are endless, but Hudgens's rose-gold variation may be our favorite yet.
