I want to know what kind of yarns are being used in that scarf that will make it cost 90-100 dollars to make..becuz I knit and crochet all the time.. and use high quality materials , and NEVER has it cost me that much to make a scarf. As far as gifts.. why not do something my kids do.. they make coupon books for things.. My son made one for his Dad that included coupon for 1 day of raking leaves, 1 day of mowing lawn, 1 day free use of the TV with no complaints, washing Dads truck. I am sure u get the idea.. You can make coupons for back rubs, his favorite meal, or dessert.. a movie of his choice.. a day of no honey-do chores.. etc..

It is nice to read that these are things y'all do all the time anyway. I do too and figured it was just because I am a dorky newlywed. Well... I do playlists and add music to his library... ipods are sacred.

Ok good. I'm not the only one who does most of these all the time. Home cooked meal = every night. Bake his fave cookies = Every Sunday. Of course I love cooking/baking, so it's a win-win.

these are cute ideas but they are things I do most of the time anyway so it wouldn't seem like a gift. I love my husband and I want to get him something super awesome this Christmas but we just don't have the money.

The home cooked meal and massage sound good. But I agree with candace about the ipod.

Yeah, I would just make him a playlist instead of loading his iPod. I know I'm being picky, but several of these still can cost a lot - cooking a really good dinner at home with wine can be expensive (unless you do the Two-Buck Chuck route), and knitting seems like a cheap hobby but it's something I've had to cut back on. With things like baby booties, no - but a scarf can cost $90-100 to make. I can think of something completely free that's off the list...

Not sure why my comment wasn't posted.. but if someone took my ipod and changed all my songs and playlists, I would be SO mad. If it's my "favourite" music, it's already on there. Don't touch my ipod. Thanks.
