7 Ways to Make Your Bachelorette Party More Affordable

Bachelorette parties can be a blast, but they can also be a major expense. To keep costs low for both you and your bridesmaids, step back and brainstorm simple ways to make your festivities more budget-friendly. Now that we've covered how to make your wedding easier on your bridesmaids' budget, here are seven easy ways to make your bachelorette party more affordable, too.

  • Plan ahead. In order to get the best possible prices, make your plans as early as possible. Thinking ahead will also offer you plenty of time to seek out special deals, so spend those extra days browsing reputable travel offer sites like Jetsetter to see what's available.
  • Opt for a staycation. Road trips and cross-country weekends may be fun, but you and your friends will save big if you choose a spot in your own city instead. Not only will you skip the cost of gas and airfare, but you'll also be more knowledgeable about the most fun, inexpensive places to go for your party.
  • Pick a house, not a hotel. Rather than shelling out for a hotel room, why not rent a house instead? You'll have a more cozy, intimate atmosphere and everyone will be free to come and go as they please — free of any messy, time-sensitive checkout situations.
  • Choose an off-season date. To get the most bang for your buck, it's smart to choose an off-season weekend for your festivities because prices will be lower across the board. Plus, since you'll likely have a larger party, it'll be nice not to fight extra crowds.
  • Don't just dine out. Bringing your own food is a must for anyone who's hoping to save money. As soon as you arrive, make a trip to the local market to stock up on a variety of simple snacks. Even better? If you have the resources available, you should plan to make a few meals yourselves.
  • Don't just drink out, either. While you're at it, head to the liquor store, too. Buy your own booze, set up a bar area in the room, and ask pals to mix their favorite cocktail recipes for tasty sips minus the tips.
  • Keep it short and sweet. Sure, you'd like to have a nice, long weekend to spend with your pals — but the truth is, not everyone can afford to take that time off and spend extra money. Be realistic when you make your plans and consider your friends' budgets, too.

It's true, Bachelorette parties can be really pricey. My favorite thing to do is actually have your friends around, watch a film, play a couple of printable games (this one is actually my favorite here:, have everyone bring a drink that 'represents' the bride and just have a blast. There is no need to spend tons of money on a bachelorette party if you are planning it right, so thank you very much for the ideas!

Planning a bachelorette party is time consuming and expensive, especially when you are still in college like most of my friends and myself. My friends and I had a limited budget when planning a recent bachelorette party so when we found we were so happy that their packages weren't too expensive and we could all pay individually. My friends and I had such an amazing time at our cooking class party!

Three things I love: renting a house, and eating and drinking in (rather than out). They are all great ways to save money on your bachelorette party. Also I love to cook, so this can be really fun & tasty. But, you still need entertainment for your party (beside drinking and eating) so I'm adding a couple of ideas for ways to save on your bachelorette party. 1. plan an group activity where everyone learns something new. For example, If you're all cooking in your rented house, maybe someone in your group can teach how to decorate cupcakes or cook Indian food. Or maybe someone in your group is into jewelry making and you can all make your wedding day necklaces that night 2. Play some kick ass bachelorette party games (I'm not talking lame games like cross word puzzles or even dirty games that leave you wishing you could undo the night)...Just funny, entertaining games that are gauranteed to make everyone laugh. Try for this (they're instantly printable and very budget friendly). They "get" bachelorette parties. Getting together with girlfriends is great on it own, but adding bachelorette style activities like the ones above really make it more than just an ordinary weekend away.

I loved the article!! If I may, let me recommended a site we used for my friend's bachelorette party. They made us all the music we needed and even sang many funny songs we wanted. Take a look in, they'll know what to to. For our party we rented a house and full lunch service, it really worth the effort.

Great tips! Love a rented house over a hotel. Airbnb has great deals. While we understand weddings are expensive it's still important to celebrate such an important milestone with something fun and memorable. That's why we started The Artful Bachelorette, a new alternative party that's creative and tasteful and we can bring the party to you!

Awesome ideas. I love renting a house over staying at a hotel anytime... when you're with a large group it is really so cost efficient!
