Dear Poll: Who Do You Buy Gifts For at Christmas?

The older I get, the fewer Christmas presents I buy. One would think it would be the opposite, but I guess with age, gifts seem less and less important, except those big ones from your parents and significant others, of course! Since everyone is talking about Christmas shopping, I'm curious, who do you shop for?

No one wants to exchange presents with me. So I just buy stuff for myself.

Thus far this year, I've bought something for my mom and my boyfriend. Whether I get a gift for someone is dependant on how much money I have (I'm in college and on a very low, fixed income), and whether I happen across something I know for a fact the person wants/needs.

My s/o, parents, brother, brother & wife, sister, and two nephews. Plus my s/o's dad, mom & stepdad, sister & husband, & brother. All of the presents we buy together and then just put both our names on them. Oh and this year I bought a gift for the baby boy I have been babysitting! :) He's absolutely adorable so I couldn't resist buying him something too :)

I buy gifts for my nieces, and we pick names in our family, there are four of us girls and my mom. We pick names at thanksgiving, and than trade "lists" if you the persons name you pick is married you get the partner as well. It makes it easier and you dont have to buy for everyone. We also buy alot of "fun" things, and i always make everyone a new ornament. This year i found these stuffed puffer fish on a string, so i made felt santa hats and beards and put everyones name on the hats.

My parents, boyfriend, 2 godchildren, my best friend and we draw names at work. I don't buy gifts for any of my siblings and their kids except the 2 godchildren I have. And of course, every year since I was 20, I always buy myself a gift!

I just get gifts for my immediate family--mom, dad, brother, sister, her husband and baby. I try to keep a budget of about $50 a person. When I had a boyfriend, I got him a lot of gifts, but this year since we're separated, I'll just him something small, depending on how he's acting around xmas time :P ha. I'm 26 and my siblings are 27 and 21, but my parents and grandparents still get us a million gifts and still do stockings. Ha ha ha...makes me feel like a kid.

immediate family (mom, dad, sister) step-dad and future brother-in-law. presumably we draw names and the cousins exchange gifts based on whose name they drew, but our parents still buy the gifts for that, even though most of us are in our 20s! (works for me, i save more money :-))
