Your Dream Job Revealed

Last week I asked you what your dream job was to see if you matched up to the results of a survey conducted by Marist, in which a third of the people said their dream job was to be an actor or actress. I had a lot of fun reading some of the answers. Turns out 22 percent of you would love to be Hollywood stars, seven percent want to be professional sportsters, and four percent want to fill President Obama's shoes. The rest of you picked careers like being a travel writer, stay-at-home mom, teacher, baker, and more.

Guess what? I have exciting news for Savvy readers. We're starting a new series called In Her Shoes in which we'll feature people who are actually living out your fantasy career. They will share their story and tips on how you can get there too.

If you want to join in the fun, leave a comment below to name a profession you'd love to be in or to just hear more about. Remember, nothing is out of bounds, let your imagination run wild!

Like onlysourcherry (comment # 8), I too have wanted to be a published author from a young age. Specifically, an author of literary fiction. It's one of those professions that you don't have a speaker for on career day at school, and no one takes you seriously when you say you want to do it for a living.

Since so many people would love to pursue acting (myself included) I'd love to get the perspective of a real, everyday, actor. Not necessarily a huge star, but someone who is steadily working in television, film, or theatre.

When I was younger I always wanted to pursue a career in interior design. I love everything design and event/wedding planning related and would love to hear what the professionals have to say. One of my best friends and I are considering starting a wedding planning firm later on in life when we have stable family lives and stable fundings.

I LOVE THIS IDEA!! Man, so many people I admire that I'd love for you speak with (or that I would love to speak with). Ivanka Trump, Tony Hsieh (CEO of Zappos), and Mohammad Yunus (founder of Grameen Bank) are my top idols.

This is a great idea savvy! I'd love to find out about how to get into residential real estate development, like planning single family home and multifamily residential communities.
