Why People Don't Network

What's Your Excuse For Not Networking?

I constantly extol the virtues of networking, because I know it works. Now it doesn't have to be as schmoozy as it sounds — it can just be a friendly professional exchange and you don't always need to have an agenda. You don't have to be looking for employment to start networking. In fact, it's better to do it when you're not looking for a job so your efforts to reach out to people will seem more sincere. Networking with someone can come about because you just admire the person professionally or because you just want to widen your network.

For those of you who shy away from networking, what's your excuse?
