Are You Saving More Than the Average American?

With all the countless bills to pay, I know it's hard to set aside money to save every month. The personal savings rate in July in America was 5.9 percent, according to the commerce department. Brought about by the recession, this is a huge jump from the 2.7 percent savings rate we saw in 2007.  I'm curious to see how many of you are meeting that national average and if you're saving more or less than the typical American.

I'm living at home right now so I'm able to put close to 50% of my income each month into savings. Hoping to get a car eventually.

I guess I'm saving about 30% of my income each month. Well, maybe a little less these next few months since we're going on vacation.
