Are You Saving More Than the Average American?

With all the countless bills to pay, I know it's hard to set aside money to save every month. The personal savings rate in July in America was 5.9 percent, according to the commerce department. Brought about by the recession, this is a huge jump from the 2.7 percent savings rate we saw in 2007.  I'm curious to see how many of you are meeting that national average and if you're saving more or less than the typical American.

I live with my dad and after I pay my other bills, and buy some things off my wish list I save about 50% of my paycheck each month.

More than the average American, but that doesn't really say much. Actually, now tat people are being more money savvy we might be about average.

I'm living at home right now so I'm able to put close to 50% of my income each month into savings. Hoping to get a car eventually.
