In a recent interview with Today's Matt Lauer, Adele talked about motherhood, her music, and how she's never been happier than she is right now. A lot has changed since Adele was last in the spotlight. Not only does the British singer hold the No. 1 album spot on Billboard's best top 200 albums of all time, but she's also a mother to her 3-year-old son, Angelo. While Adele has always had heartfelt lyrics [1], she claims that her son has made her a more emotional person "in every single way possible."
Even though her new album, 25, has caused a fan frenzy, Adele claims that she really hit a roadblock while writing it [2]. "I found it impossible for a while. I didn't know what I wanted to write about. . . . What's wrong is I wasn't sad." Which is why her single "Hello" holds such significance, because it's the singer's way of reconnecting with herself and her fans [3]. "I couldn't get over my guilt of leaving my kid to go and write a record and stuff like that. So [it's] getting over that — getting on the other side of that. It was just, you know, it's in general, just hello to everyone."
