When Alexander Skarsgard attended the San Francisco premiere for The Diary of a Teenage Girl last August, his handsome looks [1] had jaws on the floor for a different reason than usual: he walked the red carpet in a glittery gold dress and a voluminous blond wig [2]. When the Legend of Tarzan actor sat down with Conan O'Brien [3] on Tuesday night, he finally revealed why he chose that particular look for the premiere. "The first AD on that movie is Cousin Wonderlette, a legendary drag queen in San Francisco," he told Conan. "She was hosting [the premiere] with all her drag queen friends, and there was just something about the excitement about getting ready for the premiere as I was sitting there with my gray suit. They were talking about their wigs and their dresses and everything and I felt left out. So I asked Cousin, 'Can I play? Can I be a part of this?'"

Cousin happily obliged and helped Alexander achieve his look, which he said was totally inspired by a vintage Farrah Fawcett photo. Although the actor stuck with a standard suit for the LA premiere of Tarzan [4] earlier this week, his fierce red carpet moment last year wasn't the only time he's taken a wardrobe risk. In April, he walked on stage at the MTV Movie Awards without wearing any pants [5], and in January 2014 he posed for a photo while sitting completely naked on a toilet in Antarctica (yes, really).
