I think Z looks adorable with her pig tails!!!!! There will be a time, when she can do whatever she wants to her hair when she is older but right now she is young. She probably wants to play and have fun with her siblings rather than get her hair done. :)

Oh people get over the hair thing I know enoug kids whos hair is relaxed using beautiful beginnings and it isn't messed up. It's about personal preference others like it relaxed others don't.For myself my kids' hair will be relaxed if it anythig like mine, it hurts to comb it when it is natural.

God, enough with Zahara's hair already! The lil' girl is only 2- year old and like Kisersoza, Kelly and others pointed all black hair is not the same. I'm originally from Ethiopia and our hair is not as coarse as most black hair. When I look at the picture I see that Z's hair is still growing around the front and the rest has been tied in two pony tails. What makes you think it hasn't been combed and hasn't been moisturised?( personally moisturisers only adds the shine but it's not necessary in order to manage this type of hair.) Like all Ethiopians, she has very light hair and when we're little we get this curly bit toward the front and stuff. I don't know if you've seen mixed race kids hair, but that's exactly the same. However, some mixd race kids can have coarse hair but it ain't the case with girls from East African countries(ethiopia, somalia or sudan). Z's hair doesn't need to be straightened. It doesn't need to braided yet. It looks fine by me. If there's a black woman from Ethiopia or Sudan who doesn't agree with me, please STAND UP, lol! As far as I'm concerned, the only people I've noticed who complained about Z's hair are black women who are not even from Ethiopia or Sudan. The day I'll hear Iman, Waris Dirie or Liaya Kebede say that Angelina Jolie needs to do something about Z's hair then for sure I'll know there's a serious problem. The hair's still growing. Give her another year or two and if Angelina comes out with Z's looking like a crazy bum with her hair, all over the place and untidy, then complain.

Somehow it seems rather a moot point after all these posts, but I'm so glad Angelina decided to wear a dress that covered up her knees this time.

kizersosa: no one said they need to relax z's hair or put it in tight braids. why would you assume that's what people meant when they said something needs to be done with her hair? moisturizing it and brushing it were the two specific suggestions i read.

Relaxer is bad not only for kids but for adult too, this thing is EVIL! I know what i'm talking about,i used to relaxe my hair and it was ruined, gone, dead.I will never mess with this thing again.Never. Certain person use relaxer and their hair looks healthy, but it doesn't mean that it IS healthy, again i know what i'm talking about.Kizer Soza, thanks for your great explanation (i love your name ,btw ;) )Some of you REALLY need to learn more about relaxer.*coughmexicanbutteflycough* And Z already has fabulous hair, just wait and see when she's older.

i hope some you people never have children. also, relaxers are bad for children's hair, especially for children with hair like Zahara's. surprise, surprise, not all black people have the same type of hair, therefore not all products that work for other hair types will work for everyone's hair type. Zahara is a toddler, meaning she probably runs around and gets messy like other toddlers. no one complains when a bunch of little white kids have messy hair from running around and playing, what's with the unnecessary criticisms?

KizerSosa...thank you the hair thing is so STUPID. She's 2 for goodness sakes! I'm sure she runs around all day long with her brothers and her hair will get messy just like any other 2 yr old. People act like she has freaking hair to her knees and it should stay in a ponytail or something. What the hell her hair looks fine. Some people are just gonna complain about EVERY DAMN THING!!! PS I personally know plenty of people who's heads are jacked up from relaxers! OY! and to even talk about relaxers on a 2 yr old please buy a clue and get a life!

MEXicanB..are you kidding me??? Maybe you have some form of Kryptonite hair or something..In fact, the FDA lists hair straighteners and hair dyes among its top consumer complaint areas due to damging hair and scalp. Do you really know what you're doing when you apply it??? I assume not...relaxers are such a powerful process that it transforms the very chemical makeup of the hair strand. First of all, the chemical would need to be potent enough to change the basic structure of the hair shaft. The chemical penetrates the cortex or cortical layer and loosens the natural curl pattern. This inner layer of the hair shaft is not only what gives curly hair its shape but provides strength and elasticity. Once this process is performed it is irreversible. more protection the way NATURE intended it to be. This process which produces the desired effect of “straighter” hair at the same time leaves hair weak and extremely susceptible to breaking and further damage. Relaxers DO NOT help the hair, but actually strip it of all it's resources. So by applying chemicals to the hair, even if it is to achieve a desired effect, is never really to the benefit of your hair health. It's just for looks! To straighten your hair you have to apply a chemical strong enough to completely break your genetic hair pattern..and you're telling me to "change my statement"? Are you for real???? Some beauty salons won't even put it on children younger than 5...Z is only 2! Strightening hair by using relaxers have caused numerous people to have bald spots, serious hair breakage, hair damage to serious scalp burns that have required an emergency room visit and you're telling me it doesn't hurt your hair?? LOL UNBELIEVEABLE! Why don't you go to the FDA's web site and read all about need to do some research before you go spouting untruths!
Whomever said relaxers damage your hair, is a lie. I'm half mex and half black, and i've been putting relaxers in my hair for years! My hair is not broken or damaged. Please correct yourself. It's about how you take care your hair, not by putting relaxers in them.
Angelina looks a mess, enough said. Eat girl eat! ZZZZZZZZZZ!

On the whole hair thing...who says they need to do anything with her hair?? Do you know how hard on the hair and scalp that relaxers and tight braids are??? I was a cosmotologist right out of high school and I can tell you that Afro American hair (that has never been touched by any chemicals), is absolutley the SOFTEST hair there is...It feels like soap suds it' so soft...why would you want to change that..just to make other people happy? Putting chemicals on it ruins it in my opinion, just like Paris has ruined her hair with chemicals...people close to her say her hair looks and feels like "Barbis doll" hair because it's so damaged... Zahara doesn't need to do anything with her hair...I've seen kids crying getting their hair braided and I've even seen braids fall right out of the scalp for being too tight...THE WHOLD BRAID, HAIR AND ALL...not everyone's hair is the same and for the ones out there that say Z needs something or that Henry needs something done is ridiculous...I'm sure when they get to the age when they can make the choice for themselves then they will..but they are kids for gosh sakes. It's just like the people who complain about Suri's short hair, even though short hair is much easier to handle when they are this Some people will complain no matter what. I'm no Angie lover, but there are 4 kids to bath, feed, dress, and entertain...who wants to spend time fixing hair when in the Chicago heat and humitity it's going to do what it wants anyway...
