The Emmys Audience May Have Been More Excited For That Proposal Than Their Own Wins

Glenn Weiss knows how to keep things interesting. That's probably why he won the Emmy Award for his directorial work at the 2018 Oscars. During his acceptance speech, Glenn stole the show by proposing to his girlfriend right there on live television. Mid-speech, Glenn said, "Jan, you are the sunshine of my life, and Mom was right: don't ever let go of your sunshine. You wonder why I don't like to call you my girlfriend? Because I want to call you my wife." The memorable moment instantly spurred a collective freak-out from viewers in the audience (especially Saturday Night Live cast member Leslie Jones) and at home.
