Beyonce Knowles Billboard Awards Performance 2011-05-25 12:00:28

Beyoncé Takes a Cue From an Italian Pop Singer For Her Billboard Performance — Inspired or Total Rip-Off?

Beyoncé Knowles rocked the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday with a rendition of "Run the World (Girls)" that had people talking about her incredible choreography and bold use of background graphics. Most of you seemed to love the star's hot dance moves, but now the originality of her sexy performance is in question. Italian pop singer Lorella Cuccarini put on a strikingly similar show last year, which Beyoncé admitted to being aware of. She said, "My makeup artist showed me the performance of Lorella Cuccarini a year ago, and it inspired me so much. I then met with the talented people who worked on it. The technology and concept were so genius. Thank god for YouTube or I would have never been exposed to something so inspiring." Watch both ladies on stage side by side and tell us what you think — was Beyoncé just inspired or was it a total rip-off?

when you're corny and untalented, you have to rip people off...I wish she'd go have ugly babies with her ugly husband and disappear

she admits to using the same team behind the original so of course there are going to be similarities. i like the look of the original and i would say beyonce's version has more elements of her style in it. no big deal.

If she just blatantly ripped them off she would have been sued. She can however take traditional dancing and not have anyone to answer to. That is different.

I want more info about this. She says she met with the team. Did they work on this with her? Is it a collaboration? When artists share the same art directors/editors/choreographers/producers there will be similarities.

Wow, they're shockingly similar when you watch them side-by-side.

Oh another 'great' American musical artist rips off a European singer. I am referring to Madonna using the same exact clock design as the singer September used for her video Until I Die. I've never been a fan of Beyonce anyway and this just shows me that I never will be.
They both ripped off Michael Jackson's last video.

She never gives props to the artists she steals from UNTIL she gets outed by the media for being a copy cat then she always has the same excuse

RIP OFF! Can Beyonce do anything original anymore? I can understand if she took the idea and made it her OWN but its basically the same effects. (sighs)
