Ingrid Nilsen recently came out in an emotional YouTube video when she declared, "I'm gay," before breaking into tears, adding, "It feels so good to say that." She shared with the world how she was attracted to girls when she was 4 years old but dated boys later in life because of societal pressure. "Essentially I grew up in an environment where homosexuality wasn't universally accepted. It was accepted by some and definitely not the majority, and that was difficult." Ingrid decided to open up because she wanted to give herself her "best chance," and she joins others like The Rhodes Bros, Ellen Page, and Ellen DeGeneres [1] who have bravely shared their truths.
