George Clooney had girlfriend Stacy Keibler by his side yesterday to go through security at LAX. The couple boarded a flight bound for NYC, where George will have a busy few days. He's scheduled to tape an appearance on Inside the Actor's Studio before hitting the red carpet at the National Board of Review's Gala. George's film The Descendants will be honored by the NBR in four categories. George himself will take home their best actor statue, while his costar Shailene Woodley will be crowned best supporting actress. The movie got nods for best adapted screenplay and one of the year's top films. There will be further love for George's directorial project, The Ides of March, which is also among the NBR's list of 2011's best movies.
George and Stacy were among the many celebrities at the Palm Springs Film Festival. George took home the Chairman's Award, and took advantage of his time on the podium to give a shout out to his pal Brad Pitt. Of Brad, George said, "Brad is not just terrific in Moneyball, he's terrific in Tree of Life. It's not just about that, though. He's moved that into looking out for other people in the world. He builds homes in New Orleans for people who need a break. And he loves what he does."
