It's A Girl For Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban!

Nicole Kidman gave birth to a baby girl early this morning in Nashville, TN, with her husband Keith Urban by her side. Over the weekend, Keith dedicated a song at one of his concerts to his "very, very, very, very, VERY pregnant wife!" so it sounds like they knew that baby was just around the corner. No name yet, but we will keep you updated with any more details as they come. For now though, congrats to the happy family!

Update: Her name is Sunday Rose Kidman Urban and she was born weighing 6 pounds, 7 ounces. Both mother and baby are doing well.

Hi name explained in Daily Telegraph Australia The name Sunday struck me as being a nice name for a woman, so my wife and I mentioned it." NICOLE Kidman's father yesterday solved the mystery behind his newborn granddaughter's name, revealing it was inspired by Australian artist Sidney Nolan's muse Sunday Reed. Urban's brother Shane could not contain his excitement as he spoke to a Sunshine Coast radio station, revealing the baby's second name was a tribute to their late grandmother Rose.

I thought of "Raining on Sunday" as soon as I heard the name. I just read this morning that Keith Urban wrote a song about the baby and the song title is "Sunday." They knew they were having a girl and so they decided that would be a good name for her regardless of what day of the week she was born.

strange seems like they didn't know what else to name the baby so they thought of a day of the week.

Okay so maybe this is kinda out there.. but isn't there a Keith Urban song that goes "I Pray that it's raining on Sunday Stormin' like crazy We'll hide under the covers all afternoon Baby whatever comes Monday Can take care of itself 'Cause we've got better things that we can do When it's raining on Sunday" As soon as I heard the name this song popped in my head.. haha Maybe its they both really like this song? :) Who know? Congrats anyway I bet the baby is adorable!

I like the name Sunday Rose. I think it's a darling name and I don't know how true it is but I heard the name was symbolic of Catholic faith against the whole Scientology (sp?) thing with Tom.

I think it's a gorgeous name, better than something boring I suppose. At least she finally had one - so I'm very happy for her.

methinks, you're right. It's like my boy. He's from my first marriage, but my husband doesn't call him his stepson, he's his son. And my son doesn't call him his stepdad, he calls him by his first name. When asked by people who that is, he tells them he's my 2nd Dad. It's how you bring your kids up and what you teach them. My kids know I'm adopted, but only because I advocate adoptees rights with our local adoption center, and work with pregnant girls when I can. If it weren't for that I don't think they'd know, because with my parents it never comes up. Not because we avoid it, but because we don't think about it. Okay, I've gotten on a soap box again. Dagnabbit, somoene stop me!

Mykie7.........76 On this subject I 100% agree. I have many adopted in my family and no one but them ever even acknowledge it. I hate step and half because as I see it, you are my sister-brother or you aren't.

Very happy news!! Congratulation to Nicole, Keith and little Sunday Rose. It is a perfect name for her because it was a gift from her parents. It does not make a difference what we think. What matters is that this family is healthy and happy. Very happy news.

estella, adoption doesn't make a difference when it comes to steps or halfs. In fact, SAYING it makes a difference (And I know you didn't at ALL) really can hurt the kids, both biological and adopted. I say this, because as an adopted person, I grew up with a few people in our family treating both myself and my brother (Who is adopted as well, but from different parents) as if we were less than just because we weren't biological. Especially with young children that are adopted, it is important how you say things to them, because those things stick with them forever. For instance, if you say to an adopted child, "Well, they're not REALLY your parents, your parents gave you away." The sentence itself is TRUE, however as a little kid hearing that it creates nothing but self doubt and confusion. Okay, I won't preach anymore. I just wanted to say that because Connor and Isabella are Tom's children, they are Sunday's "half" siblings. Adopted or not, it really makes no difference as far as that goes.

Congratulations! But I thought she was not done with pregnancy yet. She didn't look huge and all that. Ah well.. Congrats! But Sunday Rose? What??

That is one awful name, there's the fact that Sunday IMO is the worst and most boring day of the week (I've never liked sundays) and there's the fact that they just had to stick Rose (Reminds me of Golden Girls) in there too. Poor Kid...

i like sunday, but sunday rose sounds dumb.

Azh, wouldn't Isabella and Conor be half-siblings, not stepsiblings? Well, I guess I'm thinking of biological half-siblings, I have no idea what the correct term is for siblings adopted by one of your parents but not the other. Maybe it's not that complicated, they're just "siblings" without any qualifier.
