Safe Haven is the most recent Nicholas Sparks adaptation to hit the big screen, following in the iconic footsteps of The Notebook and the lesser renowned, but still famous, Dear John, A Walk to Remember, and The Lucky One. Turns out, Julianne and Josh were already fans of Sparks's movies.
Josh said, "I think everybody, everybody talks about The Notebook when they think of one of these — as they should. I think it's a movie that will stand the test of time." Julianne, however, prefers A Walk to Remember. She said, "I read A Walk to Remember like 17 times. It was my favorite book ever. And then when it came out, I watched the commentary of Adam Shankman and Mandy Moore and Shane West like 17 times."
