Kate Middleton Lights Up Kensington Palace While Celebrating Her New Writing Gig

Feb 21 2016 - 3:00am

Kate Middleton was positively glowing during an event at Kensington Palace in London on Wednesday, where she celebrated the launch of the Huffington Post UK's "Young Minds Matter" initiative to raise the awareness of children's mental health. The duchess looked chic and sophisticated [1] while she chatted with a group of adorable kids, and spoke with a few Huffington Post journalists about her new role as guest editor [2]. Kate, who is extremely passionate about the subject of mental health in young children, wrote a heartfelt blog [3] for the publication on Tuesday that detailed her experiences working with various charities, as well as how she intends to make sure her children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte [4], are unafraid to express their emotions.

Kate has always made her love of working with kids obvious [5], and she's taken on quite a few roles as the patron of certain charities that are dedicated to aiding young children in need. It's been a very busy few weeks for the duchess, who helped kick off Children's Mental Health Week [6], recently attended the 75th anniversary of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets [7], and accepted a huge honor from Queen Elizabeth II [8]. See what else the royal family has on the calendar for 2016 [9], and then keep scrolling to see more of Kate's lovely day at the palace.
