If you haven't already heard, let us be the first to tell you: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are engaged [1]! The adorable couple [2] announced their engagement via Twitter on Monday, revealing that Harry actually popped the question earlier in November. While the Prince of Wales (aka Prince Charles) was the one to share the exciting news (which caused the internet to lose it [3], naturally) we were especially looking forward to hearing how Prince William and Kate Middleton would react. Fortunately we didn't have to wait long!
Shortly after Harry and Meghan's engagement was announced and the pair attended a gorgeous photocall [4] at Kensington Palace to mark the occasion, Harry's older brother and sister-in-law spoke out on Twitter [5] as well. "We are very excited for Harry and Meghan," Kensington Palace's official account posted in a tweet. "It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together."
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge said of the engagement:

Given Harry's close relationship with both Kate [8] and William [9], their sweet sentiment doesn't come as a surprise. Harry and Meghan are set to be married in Spring 2018 [10], which is coincidentally the same time as Kate's due date for her and William's third child [11]. The royals clearly have an excellent 2018 to look forward to!
