Kate Middleton looked beautiful in a black dress when she arrived at the annual SportsAid gala in London on Thursday. The Duchess of Cambridge served as the guest of honor at the fete for the popular charity, of which Kate is a patron. SportsAid provides financial support to up-and-coming British athletes who may have difficulty achieving their dreams of becoming sports stars if it weren't for monetary assistance.
Kate dropped by the SportsAid bash after skipping another big event in London earlier this week. The duchess opted to stay home with Prince George when Prince William attended the annual Winter Whites Gala on Tuesday alongside Taylor Swift and Jon Bon Jovi. Reportedly, William wanted Kate to skip the event as her appearance often overshadows the event in the press, but he didn't miss out on an opportunity to send the Internet abuzz when he took the stage to sing "Livin' on a Prayer" with Taylor and Jon. As for Kate, she isn't expected to make another royal appearance until Dec. 5 when she and William will attend the London premiere of Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
