Katie Holmes [1] celebrated her 40th birthday with a sweet date with boyfriend Jamie Foxx [2] on Tuesday. The two marked the special milestone at the popular NYC dessert destination Serendipity and were joined by Katie's mother, Kathleen A. Stothers-Holmes. Katie rocked a colorful cardigan and jeans, while Jamie sported a plaid coat and white sneakers. Once inside, Katie reportedly ordered a strawberry sundae [3] and Jamie opted for a frozen hot chocolate.
Although the two are pretty private when it comes to talking about their relationship, Katie and Jamie have been dating for about three years [4] and seem to be getting more comfortable showing off their romance [5]. In August, they played volleyball and locked lips during an adorable beach date [6], and earlier this month, they grabbed dinner together [7] in New Orleans. Katie also recently sparked engagement rumors when she was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her left hand. However, Katie's rep shut down those rumors [8], saying Katie isn't engaged to anyone "besides her fictional movie fiancé, played by Jerry O'Connell [9]."
