Suri Cruise might be just 10 years old, but even she understood the gravity surrounding Hillary Clinton's loss in November. While appearing on Jenna Bush Hager's SiriusXM Today show radio special, The Jenna Bush Hager Show!, Katie Holmes opened up about how devastated she and her daughter were after the results of the election were revealed. "I thought Hillary was going to win this year, and it just hurt so badly when she didn't," the 38-year-old actress said. "I know that it hurt my child so much as a 10-year-old, and it really made me think, 'Oh, we have a lot . . . a long way to go as women.'"
Katie, who has been raising Suri by herself and even introduced her look-alike daughter to Hillary and Chelsea Clinton in 2015, has been vocal about her support of women's rights, especially in the wake of a man who happily admits he's participated in sexual assault being elected to America's highest office. "We have to raise our girls to be very strong, not just for themselves, but to open the doors for other people," she continued. "Because as hard as we think we have it, there's so many women in the world that have it so much harder and we really need to be strong and help them, and help each other, so that strength is No. 1, and having a great education."
