Katy Perry [1] was on hand to support Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton at her rally in Iowa on Saturday. The star, who turned 31 [2] on Sunday, looked patriotic while hitting the stage in a red, white, and blue outfit complete with matching nails at the Jefferson-Jackson Democratic fundraiser dinner. Katy's performance included songs like "America the Beautiful" and her own hit "Firework." The singer even took over Hillary's Instagram account [3] for the day and shared photos of the two together, as well as a snap of a necklace she gifted Hillary for her 68th birthday, which is on Oct. 26.

Also in attendance was Hillary's husband and former US President Bill Clinton, who welcomed Katy [4] to the stage by jokingly saying, "Look, I don't want to talk long, because I have never been the warmup act for Katy Perry before.
