Katy Perry [2] stepped out in New York City on Aug. 28, just two days before Taylor took over the MTV VMAs with her "Bad Blood" girl squad [3], looking insanely gorgeous and carefree. Katy, who is reportedly the inspiration behind Taylor's hit song [4], walked around the sunny New York neighborhood of SoHo on Friday afternoon in a flowy dress.

Katy's day out comes after a Summer of back and forth between the two pop stars. After Taylor debuted her star-studded music video for "Bad Blood" (which possibly has numerous digs at Katy [5]) in May, Katy partied with two of Taylor's BFFs [6], Lorde [7] and Ellie Goulding. In July, Katy got involved in a short-lived Twitter feud [8] between Taylor and Nicki Minaj. A few days later, Katy's infamous Left Shark made an appearance at Taylor's 1989 world tour [9].
