Katy Perry and Russell Brand Are Reportedly Engaged — Too Sweet or Too Soon?

According to Us Weekly, Russell Brand and Katy Perry are engaged! The two have been together since September when he publicly flirted with her onstage while hosting the VMAs. Katy and Russell have become an adorable couple with all their PDAs around the world, and it looks like they have a genuinely great time together. He was recently spotted looking at diamond rings, though prior reports that they were planning to tie the knot were shot down. The two are currently in India, a trip that was supposedly his Christmas gift to her. So if the reports are true, what do you think about Russell and Katy getting engaged after only a few months together — too sweet or too soon?

I am pretty sure the engagement won't last but I think they make a perfect couple.

I feel like we have been down this road before with another couple and debating whether or not it was too soon. I had been with my husband a for a month before we started talking marriage and we were marriage shortly after.....we just celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary. So since I have been through it I do believe that when you know you have a feeling unlike you have ever felt before that it was meant to be and why wait.
I don't think they're engaged - c'mon, the "source" is a tabloid - but regardless, I think that no one can really say what's too soon and what's not. Marriage is different for each couple. The main thing is that you and your partner enter into your committment with the same intentions in mind.

i'm not against couples getting engaged after a few months, but their whole relationship seems so fake to me.

It's not that I don't like the idea of them being engaged, it's just that I think it was really quick.

I am also a hopeless romantic. I think that they look cute together and seem well-suited for each other.

lol @ mrsld. Anyway, I think it's too sweet. It doesn't matter how long you've been together, what really matters is how much you love each other. Haha A hopeless romantic is me.

Ugh. I think both of them are obnoxious and gross. But aside from that, if they get along well and are committed to making it work then more power to them!

There is absolutely no way to tell if the marriage will work. I agree with filmgirl81, I know couples who dated for three months, got married and after 20 years are still happily married. And I myself dated a guy for 3 years, we got married and six months after that we were happily... divorced ;-) It's all about making everyday choices and compromises. Sometimes level of - if I can call this like that - non-compatibility with your partner is discovered only after marriage and unfortunately not before... It's the magic of the official paper ;-)

I think a third choice should be he has the crazy eye and she should run far away from him.

Really? Well as long as they look cute together.

After seeing people who dated a month before getting married stay married, and seeing people who dated for 10 years get divorced, there really is no definitive time-frame for getting married. You just have to know what to expect out of marriage, and hope the other person expects the same
