Kelly Clarkson on Her Emotional Idol Performance: "I Was on a Slip and Slide From Hell"

Kelly Clarkson [1] stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday and opened up about her heartbreaking final performance [2] on American Idol last week. Kelly, who won the very first season of the singing competition show, told Ellen that because the song, which is about her growing up with an absent father, is so emotional and because she is so heavily pregnant, she never really had a chance at getting through it. "It's incredibly sad, but hopeful . . . because a lot of us didn't have a bar to set as far as finding love and relationships," she said. "My little girl was there and my little boy was like turning circles in my stomach. It was nostalgic. It was the last time I was gonna be on Idol, and it's ending. I was screwed from the get-go." The singer, who is currently expecting her second child [3] with husband Brandon Blackstock, also couldn't help but gush about her adorable daughter, River [4]. See what she had to say in the full clip above, and then check out 12 times Kelly's cover was better than the original song [5].
