Her illness has had one silver lining, however: she was able to meet an incredibly kind, caring nurse named Jonnella, who helped her through everything. Jonnella happens to be a huge fan of Ellen, so they not only surprised her with a FaceTime call but also airplane tickets for a trip out to LA to watch the show in person for her birthday.
