Matt Damon, Regular Dude, Works Out With College Students in Boston

Mar 16 2017 - 6:00pm

You'd think a superstar, millionaire actor like Matt Damon would prefer to work out in some elaborate, fancy home gym with an exorbitantly expensive trainer [1] or — at the very least — an Equinox [2]. But that is not the case for the Great Wall [3] star, who is apparently totally cool with pumping iron alongside college students. The 46-year-old was spotted working out at a gym on Tufts University's Medford/Somerville campus in his hometown of Boston on Wednesday, where he reportedly used the StairMaster and lifted weights. He snapped photos with members of the Tufts field hockey team [4] and was happy to talk to a few other students there.

"He was definitely ripped," Tufts senior Josh Morris told People [5]. "I seemed to be the only person who noticed him, and couldn't pass up the opportunity to say hi. He was with an older gentleman who appeared to be a friend or trainer." Josh, who was one of many students who couldn't resist saying hello to the actor, even got a selfie. "Many students were saying hi, and he seemed very friendly. I assume he knew what he was getting into working out at a university gym."

Almost didn't lift today, but now glad that I did [6]

Maybe Matt figured his Patriots hat and Boston Red Sox t-shirt would act as camouflage? He might not be able to go incognito at Tufts, but it looks like his recent job narrating the Boston Marathon documentary [7] Boston might keep him in town for a little while.
