The Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again premiere was an utter lovefest. On July 16, the cast gathered at the Hammersmith Apollo in London to celebrate the fun musical movie and, much to everyone's surprise, Meryl Streep even made an appearance. The actress hasn't done much press for the sequel because her character's presence has been left intentionally vague prior to the movie's release.
In addition to her unexpected attendance, the 69-year-old actress shared an instantly iconic red carpet smooch with Cher, who portrays her mother in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. (Yes, even though Cher is a mere three years older in real life.) The two stars previously worked together in the 1983 drama Silkwood, for which both Meryl and Cher received Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations.
