At least 36 people were hospitalized in Boston on Wednesday night after attending an Avicii concert at TD Garden. Fortunately, there were no fatalities or serious injuries [1], but Boston EMS deputy superintendent Mike Bosse said that the victims were suffering from life-threatening symptoms for drug and alcohol use and dehydration. The age of those hospitalized ranged from 16 to 25. One of the concertgoers described an intense scene [2], saying, "You couldn't breathe if you were on the floor. It was the best and worst time ever — a lot of people who couldn't handle themselves. People who don't do drugs come here and do drugs."
Avicii himself commented on the hospitalizations [3], tweeting, "Just hearing the awful news about tonight. It's a terrible thing, I really hope everyone is OK! My thoughts go to those affected and their families."
