Christian Has Many Opportunities to Cheer on The Dark Knight

Christian Bale went incognito with his baseball hat and scruffy goatee while out and about LA on Monday. The third most profitable actor of the year has more blockbusters ahead, but these next few months are about looking back on 2008. The Dark Knight was recognized by the Producers Guild of America as a nominee for Best Picture and it's up for multiple awards at tonight's People's Choice Awards, tomorrow's Critics Choice Awards, not to mention Sunday's Golden Globes (don't forget to fill out a ballot now). Since a few of those ensemble acting nods include Mr. Bale, there's a good chance one of those red carpets is going to require a shave.

Yeah I didn't like Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes either, but I thought she was slightly better than Maggie Gyllenhaal. The chemistry between Katie and Christian was more believable I guess, but the character just sucked in general. I hope Bruce Wayne/Batman has a better love interest next time like Selina Kyle/Catwoman.

I didn't like Maggie Gyllenhall at all in Dark Knight, now that I think about it. I think it might have more to do with the way the character was written, though--I couldn't stand Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes, either. She's just kind of a pompous and self-righteous character in general.

I completely agree with Tulipe and Black Velveteen, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who felt that way. I thought The Dark Knight was a decent films and it sounded amazing on paper, but I also agree that Harvey Dent's storyline was too rushed, Maggie Gyllenhaal was wrong for the part of Rachel Dawes (spoiler alert: I felt no sympathy when Rachel died, so there must be something wrong with that character) and I felt that Christian Bale wasn't in the movie enough, even the movie is supposed to be ABOUT him. I actually think that Batman Begins was better in some ways. The best part of The Dark Knight was the actors...especially Gary Oldman and Heath Ledger. They were both incredible, in my opinion, and I'm glad that they gave Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman's character) a bigger role. Ok, back on topic: I think Christian is so hot but the goatee is not really doing it for me.

Rocking the cargo pants and hoodie again... It doesn't matter, he still looks good. TDK won 5 awards at the People's Choice last night and Bale won one. He looked much more smarter obviously. A lot of people mentioning the Batman voice, here's my take: They overdid it completely. In Batman Begins, most of it was down to Christian himself and only a little bit was digital. However, that voice in The Dark Knight really annoyed me. I felt I was watching a really good movie but everytime Batman appeared on screen it wasn't pleasant listening to him. And I agree with the person who said we don't see enough of Bruce Wayne. The movies only deal with Batman's struggle. Surely, this would affect Bruce as well seeing as they are the same person... Oh and the person who said there was no chemistry between Maggie Gyllenhall and..anyone. She looked bored throughout the film. Like she didn't want to be a part of it. And I reckon that Katie Holmes refusing to be in TDK was a stupid decision on her part. At least there would have been something of a chemistry with some of the characters as she has worked with them before. Unlike Maggie, who was wholeheartedly out of her depth. Okay, that was a long comment. :S

The Dark Knight are among the top movies of 2008 but Oscar worthy and greatest movie of all time it AINT. Bale as Batman sounds like Dirty Harry. Two-Face was rushed and Scarecrow was so wasted. I can say the same for Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman. The weak chains were Michael Jai,Eric Roberts and most of all Maggie G. No chemistry with anyone, her performance was not below average and people just question what Bruce and Harvey saw in her. Bale is hot onscreen but he looks gaunt and ages rapidly offscreen. He looks like he's in his forties than thirties.

The guys always looks P.O. and unhappy. I also think TDK is not that amazing. I also give props to Gary Oldman and Aaron Eckhart. Maggie was miscast.

Well, hello there Senor Bale  Call me crazy, but enjoyed Batman Begins more than The Dark Knight. Heathus was awesome as The Joker and I just love me Mr. Aaron Sexhart. The only thing that got me on my gotdamn nerves was Batman's voice. I know he was supposed to have a menacing voice and all, but damn. They went overboard on the voice thing. :o

Thank you, Jude ! Gary Oldman rocks. So does Michael Caine. Basically, the actors are all solid. I just don't get the whole movie, that's all... :-)

I found it entertaining and the storyline, with the descent of Harvey Dent, Batman's new direction and the Joker's role in all this, was well executed. I also liked the characters and actors in the film.

i can't wait to see who the winners are this time around, and i hope that christian gets to remain on top this year. he's one of my favorites and has been for ages!

My favorite part of Bale as Batman is that his Bruce Wayne seems really of making an ass out of himself at his own parties. Also, Alfred's awesome. Gary Oldman is the best.

Ok, I'll probably be burnt at the stake for saying that, but I watched The Dark Knight today for the 1st time (didn't want to die stupid, I guess) and... it didn't do anything for me. Don't mistake my words, it's still an okay action movie, but I must be impervious to the Batman craziness... :-) I agree that Heath Ledger did a good job with the Joker but curiously, with this whole double identity thing, I almost forgot that Christian Bale was in the movie, since we don't see him as "Bruce Wayne" that much (in my opinion). Still, the character I sympathized with the most was Gary Oldman's (can't remember the name of the character - and yes, I just saw it, I know, pathetic)... Oh well. Please enlighten me on the greatness that is this movie, because apparently, I'm the only one who's not on board !

The checkout lady probably jacked it for herself. I got my copy for $6 something at Blockbuster--they were having an awesome 3 for $20 sale.
