Photos of Rihanna in NYC, Chris Brown Sentencing Rescheduled to Today

Chris Brown Sentenced While Rihanna Runs Around NYC

Rihanna smiled for the cameras on her way out of the Bowery Hotel in NYC last night. She's been laying low and focusing on her music lately, recently releasing the new "Run This Town" video with Jay-Z and Kanye. Meanwhile, back in LA, Chris Brown arrived to court this afternoon to be sentenced after having pled guilty in June to assaulting Rihanna. In addition to the continued restraining order, he must complete five years probation, a domestic violence eduction program, and report back to the judge every three months, among other terms.

TMZ just posted the police report with the details of how the beating went down. It was much more brutal than original reports suggested, but no reference to her hitting him. It was evidently a very long and bloody beating--he was wearing a large ring that added to the damage, plus strangling her.until she began to lose consciousness. I know this sentence is probably normal for a first offense, but after reading the brutality he unleashed, I think any woman who gets into a relationship with him is crazy. I'd never spend a penny on any product or event he profits from.

Um, Anon, how do you know this ? If she hit him in self defense it isn't assault (well, it is, but self defense is an affirmative defense). and prencesschris.. he really didn't. I'm a prosecutor who works in DV, and this is - sadly - similar to the sentence many first timers get. Plus, he plead G to a felony, which is a lot better than say, to second degree assault (a mis). Plus, if he violates his probation he is facing up to the max of what he plead to.
