Back of SJP Reveals Her Hopes For the SATC Sequel Sarah Jessica Parker and James Wilkie kept warm in their scarves in NYC yesterday. Now that the Sex and the City sequel is officially on, SJP will be getting into character as Carrie Bradshaw around Labor Day. The actress has a lot of thoughts about the second movie which is still being written and recently talked about what to expect. Here's what she said: On what she wants for the sequel: "I think we want this one to be a romp. The last one, we got to tell a really mature sophisticated story that had real heartbreak in it and this time, I think we want a romp. We want our audience to have a massive romp." On SATC during a recession: "How do we do that well? And how do we do that in a not lazy way? How do we address these economic times in a franchise that has a lot to do with luxury and labels? There is a lot that we have to think about because times are very different. So these are nice challenges, these are good challenges. I’m glad they’re not mine, they’re really Michael Patrick’s, but we certainly have conversations about them." On what's ahead for her and Big: "In a million years I’m not going to give you an indication. I want someone to show up that first weekend." It's exciting to know that SJP will be back in Manolos soon — or maybe even some recession-friendly heels. It would help them if they moved on to other projects. reesiecup 8 years i wasn't blown away with the first movie, but not too disappointed either. i watched it last weekend again, this time w/ my mom and she loved it. i think i appreciated it more too the second time around. i feel that SJP would not have agreed to star if she didn't believe they could come up with a story to tell that is at least somewhat compelling...but i guess we'll see. ROMP FEST 2010! Liss1 8 years I just watched the movie again last weekend. It really was a perfect ending to the show, a sequal isn't a good idea. I will see it but i hope it's not too bad. hayworthgilda 8 years I think so too. I just think she has charm in spades. And she's a really good actress who was smart enough to produce and really chart a course for her career. sham28 8 years Movie aside, I've read a lot of her interviews, and she could absolutely be described as 'lovely.' She didn't grow up with money, she's not beautiful, and the result was a woman who is very perceptive and sensitive, and a thinker. Even her speech is a little old fashioned, and never, ever arrogant. From what I know about her I like her a lot. hellojello 8 years I loved the TV show but the acting in SATC movie was terrible!!! I will not be seeing the new movie. agostopr 8 years Yeah glamourette142 8 years This makes me sad, I love the series and I thought the movie was great, it tied up everything in a cute package and said " here you go , fans!" It felt like the end, in a good way. I agree, fleurfairy, Carrie and Big having a kid now? Can Charlotte's life get any more perfect? Miranda and Steve... let them be! and who wants to screw grandma, love Samantha, but really folks....don't ruin a good thing ilanac13 8 years well at least she realizes that they had to address how the movie will change based on the current economy. i hope that they are able to stay true to things without really losing the SATC feel of it all. solitaire 8 years Gee, could she use the word romp anymore? I hated the movie. Loved the series. I won't see a sequel. lickety-split 8 years no where for them to go? so life is over once you hit 40? lol, not for me honey. my story will go on and on. and i think the ladies of satc have more to do too. gomelalolo 8 years can't wait...guilty pleasure :) cloroxcowgirl 8 years Just glad to see she's looking in the mirror before leaving the house these days. bluestar 8 years You're right Rafaela, the movie sucked harder than any movie I've ever seen. And NO, I don't want to see old women trying to get laid now. Sorry, they are too old to be romping around. rafaela-losardo 8 years the satc movie sucked, and the second will follow the mess....they're ruining the memory of an incredible show princess_eab 8 years ooh, SJP! time for a hair appointment!! spicyaroma 8 years Is her hair.... 3 colours?!? naziazholesusuck 8 years well, i for one cant wait. PensaGrey 8 years blasted smile code! :cocktail: there. PensaGrey 8 years I've got a great idea for the kind of romp Boogie Wonderland style 'we'd' like to have...oh yes, I'm in their dream demographic. SJP call me. We'll do lunch at Serendipity. :cocktails: fleurfairy 8 years I think it's greedy of them to want to do a sequel. There is nothing left for them to tell, nowhere else for these characters to go. Are we really to expect that Big and Carrie should have a baby at their ages? How many more times can Steve and Miranda break up? Come on. I think it's making a mockery of the series and they should have left well enough alone with the finale of the show. One movie was ok, two is just plain greed.
