Back of Angelina Jolie Talks About Adopting Another Child Angelina Jolie looked beautiful and happy back in New York to stop by The Today Show and chat with Matt Lauer this morning. Angelina was promoting Changeling and spoke again about how it is "horrifying" as a mother to think about anything happening to your children. After seeing Angelina and the kids through Brad's eyes in W Magazine, here's even more about the famous family and their plans to expand. You can watch the full interview after the jump. Here are highlights: On adopting again: "Yeah, I have something in mind. You can't even start the process until any new children are six months old, to understand how the new family has settled. [. . .] It's a smart thing . . . to understand when to bring another child in." On the twins: "We have so many children that they're not really stunned anymore when kids come home. [. . .] They're all at that great age that they are not threatened. They're independent. They don't need Mommy and Daddy all the time and to be able to enjoy the kids. They play with them, they change their diapers, they call them their babies, and they dress them up and you know, they have fun with them." On moving all the time: "The children will probably dictate. We talk about one day, they'll probably want to stay in one place for a very long time, as they start to get certain friends," Jolie says, "So far we've just moved them a lot. They like packing their bags before the next adventure, and like making new friends wherever we go. I think . . . we'd like to maintain that . . . we'd like them to be those kind of adults, where they can find home wherever they are in the world, where they can find friends wherever they are in the world." Her face was simply gorgeous in that film, but she was so skinny I felt uncomfortable sometimes. P.S.: The "child limit law" was a really stupid statement. I don't think I could adopt more than two kids (IF I decided to adopt someday) but considering the many kids out there without a home, someone says a family -- that can afford to support many kids -- shouldn't be allowed to adopt more kids than a certain "limit"? That's an awful thing to say (and what limit would be for the person who said that?). lexichloe 8 years Wow, just wow...I'm speechless as to how trivial she refers to her children's upbringings. Miss-Delicious 8 years shes a nutter. californiagirlx7 8 years Oh thanks, I didn't know that Figurine :) figurine 8 years They did Mr. & Mrs. Smith re-shoots in March 2005 as well. So yeah, they definitely had quite some time to figure things out. :) californiagirlx7 8 years I noticed that comment in the NYT article too, californiagirlx7, it is interesting considering they used to say they fell in love AFTER the movie, not during, since he was still technically married. ugh. I hate that I know things like this Yeah, the thing is Mr. & Mrs. Smith filmed for a looong time. From the pictures I've seen, the primary shoot was from January - April 2004 and then they did reshoots in the fall of that year. I have a feeling that they realized they were in love during the re-shoots because Brad and Jen split up soon after. This is just speculation though ;) Just thought I'd add that disclaimer. ElectroPopTart 8 years She's really cool. =) CherryPop- 8 years .. some like it some hate it . CherryPop- 8 years pmst o the moving part . I used to love moving when i was like 4-7 and i brother didnt mind it eader we loved going to new places and meeting new ppl . I would love to move now to but we have some grazy family trouble going one right now .. So i dont think that kids mind ot so much . Gladgladglad 8 years "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" filmed for quite some time after Jen and Brad split up and I have no doubt Angelina loved Brad very soon after meeting him. It doesn't mean she did anything about it. superstar2780 8 years I noticed that comment in the NYT article too, californiagirlx7, it is interesting considering they used to say they fell in love AFTER the movie, not during, since he was still technically married. ugh. I hate that I know things like this! :) zeeshiloh 8 years All I know is I love her and I kept watching that video over and over again. She can't be more beautiful than that. HeidiMD 8 years I love Brad and Angelina, and I don't have to take care of their kids so it's not my problem, but I can't believe they would consider adopting again so soon! I thought having twins would make her slow down for a few more years. They will all be pretty much the same age except for Maddox (I think he is a little bit older than the rest?). It seems like Zahara, Shiloh, and Pax are all the same age, give or take a year, and then to have the twins on top of a new kid... insane. Whatever, though! I think they are great parents, and they have the money and resources to have as many kids as they want. I think they are done with biological children, though. And I love her new hair. californiagirlx7 8 years My father is one of 10 siblings, and they moved many many times during their childhood. They all turned out relatively normal...none of them are drug addicts or involved in criminal activity, etc. Seven of the siblings are married with 2-3 kids, one of them (my dad) was happily married until my mom died and has raised me and my two younger sisters by himself, my uncle is gay and has been in a long-time relationship with his partner whom he plans to marry and have kids (via surrogate) with, and one is a single mom who is engaged but has never married because her father (my grandfather) died when she was a teenager and she didn't want to get married becuase he won't be able to walk her down the aisle. None of the siblings got divorced either, my dad is the only one who is no longer married, and that's only because he's a widower. Disclaimer: I'm not saying that you have to be married to be happy, but my point is that they aren't trapped in miserable marriages either. Livia1 8 years Missyd, a 'mommy tuck' ... that's hilarious! Well, to each her own. She does look good. lilegwene 8 years I come from a family of 7 kids in 9 years. Now that I am older, and independent, I am astounded at how my parents were able to raise us. Not only financially, but providing family memories and individual attention. Brad and Angelina don't have to worry about money, and I'm sure they have a score of housekeepers/nannies to help them out, but it is obvious that they pay attention to their kids and recognize their individuality. Also, kids around the same age play together. I'm sure the older ones keep themselves busy a lot of the time, and with the afore-mentioned help; are always supervised. If they don't feel too overwhelmed as parents, I think that having a big, diverse family is a great thing. They are taking in kids who would undoubtedly be in bad conditions, and might even be dead. Also, it is an amazing family to grow up with for the children. They already have a foundation to grow up without racial prejudice (class prejudice might be another issue) and get to have so many life experiences. Good for them! I hope they continue to ignore the tabloids and criticism and do what they feel is best for their lives and their children. californiagirlx7 8 years That New York Times article someone posted earlier would probably cause more controversy than this Today Show interview, there is an interesting comment about Mr. & Mrs. Smith in there that will get some people riled up. missyd 8 years Livia1 it's called a 'mommy tuck'. Sources say thats where she has been hiding since she has the twins...in recovery. I'M NOT SAYING THAT, I'm just saying that 'sources close to her' say so. little-k 8 years Brad needs to inject a bit of sanity into the mix. Don't get me wrong, I like and admire Angie. But to say the kids don't really need Mommy & Daddy? Some aren't much more than babies themselves! Of course, they need their parents. californiagirlx7 8 years I'm not surprised that this post is causing drama :oy: Really, did she say anything that surprising? Brad and Angelina have already stated that they want between 7 and 14 kids, so I don't understand why people are shocked that they want more. In my opinion, I think that they will only have one or two more. Btw, it's not like she said that she was going to adopt tomorrow, she said she had somewhere in mind and will adopt eventually. I have a feeling that the next baby will come from Africa, since Z is the "odd one out" right now (Shi, Knox, and Viv are biological; Mad and Pax are from Asia). The interview was alright, but it wasn't the most interesting one I've seen her do. I'm sure she appreciated that Matt Lauer didn't ask many personal questions until the end. Joanna 8 years She needs to start taking better care of Brad. He looks so tired and old. He always looks dirty. With all that help surely the family could clean up a little. She's the only one that always looks decent. wakeupandora 8 years "i mean i think a kid would rather be in a family with caring parents and a ton of brothers and sisters than an orphanage somewhere. right?" Thoroughly agree, well said, MegIn! Livia1 8 years Now, I love this lady but seriously, she has bigger boobs after giving birth, bigger arms and face but not an inch to her stomach?! That's odd.
