David and the English Soccer Team Prep For Their Next Big Game

David Beckham was decked out yesterday to join the English soccer team for their latest practice session in Rustenburg, South Africa. Their squad was getting ready for tomorrow's big World Cup match versus Slovenia, which hopefully goes better than their last draw against Algeria. They need a win to move on in the tournament, and David seems hopeful about the odds. He said, "We win the next game, we win the group. We know we've not played well in the first two games but we haven't lost, we've got two points. To get it back on track it's easy — if we win our last game then everything looks good again." Regardless of the outcome, it's always a treat to see David suited up on the sidelines in his stylish attire.

Cheering for Slovenia today! We don't need the win, a draw will be enough to put us in the top 16... Anyway, both teams are super motivated and I'm looking forward to a good game.

Um, no David. You don't win the group! Did you forget about USA? Dude, all four teams need to win. The only two capable of really winning the group is Slovenia or the US. If England passes, it won't get far. They really have been sucking.

Er, even if England wins tomorrow, they still might not win the group. If the US wins as well, they'll have the same exact points, making it a tie--and from there, it depends on the goal differential. I know that the English would love to ignore the US team's existence at the moment, but Becks might want to check his facts first...

i'm thrilled that he's able to practice with them - shows that he's bouncing back pretty well from such a major injury. i hope that England does well during their match.
