Angelina Talks Brad, Shiloh's Request For a Dead Pet, and Pax's Cooking in Vogue

Angelina Jolie has been busy in Budapest working on her directorial debut, but she's on the cover of December's Vogue chatting about The Tourist ahead of its holiday release. She and costar Johnny Depp are also featured in the new Entertainment Weekly, in which they discuss meeting for the first time. Angelina spoke to the Vogue's Vicki Woods about her sometimes surprising love for Brad, Pax's skills as a chef, and Shiloh's unique pet request. She also posed for a shoot with Mario Testino — see photos of the star in the magazine throughout the years. She said:

  • On wearing black: "As Brad'll tell you—and my kids—apparently Mommy only wears black. . . I like to get up so every pair of pants goes with every top, every dress goes with every shoe. I've a very tiny closet. Brad's always laughing at me. Some days, yes, I have the nightgown that looks like a dress that I can sleep in and pick the kids up at school. And maybe take a meeting if I switch into heels."
  • On Brad's looks: "Well, he's a handsome man. . . No, I think he's an extremely sexy—extremely handsome and the most sexy. . . . When I think about him, I just think of the man who's such a great friend and such an extraordinary father. And that's when I fall, you know, when I have my moments of getting—whoarr!—caught up in how much I love him . . . it's usually when I see him with the children."
  • On her big family: "I only planned for two! To each his own. It's one of those things. How you build your family—you have to know what you're capable of handling and how your children will relate to each other. Maybe if you have one child and that child has a lot of needs, you realize you cannot give more attention to another. Sometimes you just know as a parent. We felt we could handle more children, and we have a very happy, very full home."
  • On Shiloh's unique pet request: "Shiloh found a dead bird, so she came in and said, 'Can I have a dead pet?' And I'm . . . 'Uh-uh, I don't think it's healthy, honey. I think they have to put him in a box,' and I had to run out to find, like, a taxidermy bird. I just worked it out for her."
  • On her cooking skills: "I'm not the best cook. Pax is a better cook than me. Pax likes to cook. But I try to when I can. Any house that we're in, we all chip in. But the kids are very sweet . . . so enthusiastic anytime I cook. Especially Maddox; he's just this little man that's very supportive of me—it's like he's raised me a bit. So I cooked them all breakfast before school this morning, and he has that kind of 'Thanks, Mom! Good job!'"

To see what Angelina says about working with Johnny and The Tourist, just

  • On deciding to do The Tourist: "I was looking for a very short thing to do before Brad started filming [Moneyball]. And I said I needed something that shoots not too long, in a nice location for my family. Somebody said there's a script that's been around, and it shoots in Venice and Paris. And I said, 'Is it a character I haven't played before?' And they said, 'Yes, it's a lady.'"
  • On switching off films with Brad: "We take turns working. One of us is always at home with the kids—always. Taking them out to things and being there with them and bringing them to school or to the set to visit Mommy or Daddy."
  • On getting Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck to shoot The Tourist: "I couldn’t believe it that he was open to doing it, and then we found out that Johnny was open to doing it. So what was always this tiny idea to do a little film in Europe suddenly became this . . . bigger movie."
  • On her children's high school: "Hopefully, they'll go to high school in Aix-en-Provence. It looks like a great place to be a teenager."

Hi everyone, I don´t normally read this type of articles, and this is the first time i´ve registered in this site, but I could´nt stand the comments and just had to say something. I'm from argentina, and I'm not Angelina´s biggest fan, but I admire the way she has learned from life. Honestly, I´m having a hard time trying to understand why there are so many of you people out there more concerned in sending out all those hateful vibes (personally, I think your just driven by jelousy), instead of concentrating on your own lives and trying to find your own happiness. In my humble opinion, that´s all angelina´s trying to do!! To live her life the best way she can, to learn from her mistakes, to learn from her family´s experiences, to enjoy and help others do the same, to live and let live!!!! Is that such a bad thing? manipulative or not, I think she´s a much stronger, smarter and lovable person than all of you judgemental people put together. I hope this brings some sensibility and good vibes to your life, and if not, I´ll only have wasted a few minutes, no worries. Oh, and try to be more understanding, she looks like someone who tries to seek peace and love besides being "haunted" and judged all the time by all sorts of people and for every little thing she does. (every little thing she does is magic, ja) There are celebrities that are much more careless about everything, try critisizing them and see how that turns out. Maby it will even be of use to them. Cheers!

DKnowing what language is spoken there does not mean you know about the country. Building a clinic there(amazing) and visiting also does not mean you know the culture. Did you read what she said in Vanity Fair? She has NO idea about that girls country. Pax has a Vietnamese name even though they renamed him. Zahara was not given an Ethiopian name. Her middle name is Marley for goodness sakes after Bob Marley. That is proof alone.

She looks super pretty. Its a shame though she has no idea about Zaharas background or culture. After reading Vanity Fair I was shocked at her ignorance.

completely agree comment 35! thank you for saying it so well. you are exactly right. the people that should be paid most are the crappy jobs no one wants like farmer, fast food, cooks, the really unfun jobs should pay the most. actors should get the least as its the most fun and by being in a film, theyd get fame. the balance is so completely off here on planet earth. i find it hard each day as i face these inequalities and wrongs in even just the simple everyday things. something drastic needs to change and soon. i pray it will. it may if enough people wake up and become conscious of the Truth and what is really going on.

I'm glad that there's two post on Angelina Jolie today and one of them is not the usual set photos in Budapest. Plus I'm thrilled to discover that Angelina is gonna grace the cover of Vogue just as I subscribed to the magazine. She looks amazing! Makeup and photoshop isn't only reserved for shallow aging actresses. The article is alright, she seems to have grown up to be a normal mature adult, which is less than I can say about her daily naysayers. Looking forward to the December cover of Vogue and the Movies: Tourist and unnamed Bosnian love story.

Always will be a boring person, Her acting isn't even good...Her article doesn't change one thing about how i feel about her.Sad woman very depressing.

She is so stupid. If there is justice Brad will leave her for a woman he meets on a movie set. Julia Roberts had a right when she called her a shameless idiot.

#16 Her interview did nothing to change my mind that she is a bore and uninteresting. This a comment roll, so yes I commented and voiced my opinion. I read many things that result in me being bored or uninterested in the subject or topic. Jolie continues to be just that.
