Will Smith Is Still the Fresh Prince — and Here Are 11 Reasons Why

Sep 10 2015 - 10:50am

Will Smith [1] may have solidified his place on the A-list with blockbuster films like Bad Boys, Independence Day, The Pursuit of Happyness, and the Men in Black trilogy, but we'll never forget how he got his start: as the basketball-playing, backward-hat-wearing funny guy on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air [2]. It's safe to say that time has been very good to Will, and in addition to his youthful looks, he's also retained his boyish charm and infectious laugh. In honor of the iconic show's 25th anniversary today — and because we're still devouring those Fresh Prince reruns — here are 11 examples that prove he's still Bel-Air royalty.

First, let's start with his face.

His face has barely changed.

He can still rock a fresh pair of overalls and printed shirt.

Even when he's schooling Jimmy Fallon [3] in the history of hip-hop dancing. Watch the hilarity here [4].

His love for matching separates hasn't wavered.

Exhibit A: February 2000.

Exhibit B: May 2013.

He looks great in a baseball cap.

And with facial hair!

Will's still got the best expressions.

And can still nail that "This is all me up in here!" pose.

Oh, and let's not forget how great he looks shirtless.

There's really no denying it.

Will still kicks it old-school with DJ Jazzy Jeff.

Here they were in Las Vegas together just last month.

And he hangs out with Carlton (Alfonso Ribeiro).

Seriously — they still do the dance.

And now they've got Will's teenage son Jaden in on it, too.

But mostly Will Smith is still the Fresh Prince because, after all these years, he'll rap the show's iconic theme song.
