Pink Has Some Pretty Badass Tattoos, but the Stories Behind Them Are Even Better

Mar 2 2019 - 2:40pm

Pink has a ton of tattoos — 17, if we're counting. From tributes to her late dogs to matching designs with her loved ones, the 39-year-old singer always seems to have a new idea for a tattoo. Even though Pink got her first ink at the young age of 12 [1] (what a badass [2]!), she can still "explain every single one of them and have a good laugh." However, if she could start over, she'd just do "one big back piece and have a clean [front]" since she's "into balance." Well, I guess it's too late for that now. Ahead, take a look at all of Pink's tattoos and the special meanings behind them.

Kanji

These Japanese letters [4] were one of Pink's first tattoos. "One is my very first one when I was 12. My mom didn't know; she freaked out; she was always freaking out," she explained. "It says, 'Good luck and happiness.' Then my mom and I got matching ones — her first, when she was 55! Mine says 'Mother.' Then there's 'Strength' and 'The will to live.'"

Bulldog and Bible Verse

On Pink's left arm is a picture of her late dog [5], Elvis. "This was Elvis, a bulldog," she previously explained to the UK's The Independent. "Next to him is a bible verse: 'A time to weep, a time to laugh, a time to mourn, a time to dance, sleep in peace my darling, I release you' — he drowned in my pool. I wasn't there. He was being babysat."

Guardian Angel and Shooting Star

Pink has a design of a guardian angel [6] chasing a shooting star on her shoulder. She got the ink when she was 15, and says the star is a representation of herself.

Music Note

Pink has a tribal music note behind her left ear.

"What Goes Around Comes Around"

Pink's favorite tattoo is the quote inked on her inner right wrist. In an interview with W Magazine [7] back in 2017, she revealed the meaning of it, saying, "If you're really nice to people, they'll be nice to you back. That's the hope, right?" Pink got the ink [8] when she was 17.

Barcode

Located on the back of her neck is a barcode. "[It] was my Missundaztood present," she previously revealed, referring to her second studio album.

"Tru Luv"

Pink and her husband, Carey Hart, got matching "Tru Luv" tattoos [9] on their second date back in 2001.

Sir Corky Moore 89-03

The singer has a tribute to her late dog [10] on her left arm. "He was my childhood dog, West Highland terrier," Pink told The Independent in 2012.

Frog

"I have a frog on my foot 'cause I Iove frogs," she explained.

Help Button

"I have a button on my right arm that I got with my friend Butch," Pink told The Independent [11] in 2012. "We got done early in the studio that night. We had been drinking. Obviously."

Dog Tags

The dog tags around Pink's right ankle are tributes to her dad [12], Jim Moore, and her brother, Jason. Pink's father previously served in Vietnam, while her brother is a trainer with the Air Force Thunderbirds.

Dragon

The mother of two has a dragon on her leg [13] for good luck. "[It] was a seven-hour piece, and I think dragons are good luck. And it looks hot," she previously said.

Half of a Broken Heart

The broken heart is a nod to her best friend [14], Lara.

Heart

Pink has a heart inked on her hip.

Razor Blade

The singer has a razor blade inked [15] on the inside of her wrist next to the word "insecurity," which "means to me that insecurity will kill you."

Bows

Pink previously joked that she has two bows [16] on the back of her thighs because she's "a really talented stripper." LOL!

Mr. Pink

The singer has "Mr. Pink" written on her inner left thigh.
