Can you believe Prince George is turning 5 this year?! Compared to the sweet photo taken on his fourth birthday [3] in 2017, the adorable royal looks all grown up in his smiley new portrait, which Prince William and Kate Middleton released the day before his July 22 birthday via Kengsington Palace's Instagram [4]. "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share a new photograph of Prince George to mark his fifth birthday," the caption reads. "Thank you everyone for your lovely messages." George can be seen flashing a huge grin in his usual [5] white and blue polo shirt and navy shorts. Pretty cute, huh?
This year will no doubt be an especially exciting one for George, seeing as he's now a big brother two times over. Will and Kate welcomed their third child, Prince Louis, in May, and George recently attended his little brother's christening [6] along with sister Princess Charlotte [7]. On top of that, George — who is the future heir to the British throne — also stole hearts at uncle Prince Harry's wedding [8] to Meghan Markle in May. We can't wait to see where else the year takes him. Happy birthday, George!
