Prince William and his wife Kate raised over $1 million for charity last night at a special dinner they hosted at St. James's Palace. The cause was the Child Bereavement Charity, which William has been a patron of since 2009. Three hundred powerful businesswomen from the group 100 Women in Hedge Funds turned out to celebrate their year-long commitment to the organization. William, who holds the Child Bereavement Charity in high regard, addressed the crowd. He said, "I find it enormously rewarding and gratifying to observe how two organizations, which mean so much to me, are working so superbly with one another. . . . What you are both doing together to alleviate the suffering of children who have lost family members, and bereaved families who have experienced the tragedy of losing a child, is beyond praise." Kate wore a Beulah London gown, and looked amazing in bright red. The night for good deeds comes just weeks before a special milestone for William and Kate — they'll mark their six-month wedding anniversary on Oct. 29!
