Princess Beatrice took a break from her official royal duties to attend the Met Gala in NYC on Monday. While the 29-year-old opted to wear a stylish headband instead of a tiara for the special occasion, she did seem to give a subtle nod to her family's roots with her flowing purple dress [1]; the color purple is often associated with royalty. How fitting! Of course, this certainly isn't the first time a British royal has attended the star-studded event. The late Princess Diana famously attended the event back in December 1996.

Beatrice certainly has a busy few months ahead of her. While her sister, Princess Eugenie, is set to tie the knot [2] in October, Beatrice will first attend her cousin Prince Harry's wedding to Meghan Markle [3] later this month. Until then, enjoy her fabulous outing across the pond ahead.
