The world got a little brighter when Meghan Markle [1] and Prince Harry welcomed their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor [2], on May 6. At just 2 days old, baby Archie made his first royal appearance [3] during a photocall at Windsor Castle, and we can expect to see him again very soon at his christening. While Kensington Palace has yet to make an official announcement, CNN confirms that the tiny tot's christening [4] will take place on July 6. The affair will reportedly be held in Queen Elizabeth II's private chapel at Windsor Castle.

It'll also be an intimate event with around 25 friends and family members in attendance. Senior royals such as Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles [5] as well as Kate Middleton and Prince William are expected to attend, along with Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland [6]. However, it's still up in the air whether the queen will be at the ceremony [7]. Following the event, Harry and Meghan will release photos of their newly christened son. The family also revealed details regarding Archie's godparents [8] will remain private.

According to The Sunday Times, Archie will reportedly wear a replica of the renowned royal christening gown [9], which was first worn for the 1841 baptism of Queen Victoria's eldest daughter, Princess Victoria. Prince Harry also sported the original garment at his own christening in December 1984.

Royal christenings [10] usually take place a few months after a baby is born. Prince George was 3 months old [11] when he had his, while Princess Charlotte was 2 months old [12] for hers and Prince Louis had his [13] at nearly 3 months old.
