Rush Limbaugh is an A**hole

Can you believe this? Rush Limbaugh is an a**hole and you all know how much I hate to use bad words. Mocking Michael J. Fox is just wrong in so many ways. I don't care if he has since apologized, the painkilling pill popper should think before he speaks. We know the ad that MJ did is sad to watch but Rush should not have opened his mouth up like he did. Michael J Fox was the original poster boy for my generation. Secret of my Success is still one of my favorite movies of all time. Why would anyone bash someone suffering from such a serious disease as Parkinson's. Here's more:

Michael J. Fox, who suffers from Parkinson's disease, appears in a TV ad for a Senate candidate who supports stem-cell research, and the severe shaking and stiffness associated with the disease are evident in his movements. But conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh has accused the actor of exaggerating his symptoms for the camera.

Commenting on Fox's commercial for Missouri Senate challenger Claire McCaskill, Limbaugh said on his syndicated radio program Tuesday, "He is moving around and shaking, and it is purely an act."

Limbaugh later said on the show, "If this was not an act, then I apologize." He also went on to say, however, that Fox is allowing his illness to be exploited.

Fox's rep, John Rogers, called Limbaugh's remarks "shameful," USA Today reports. "It's an appalling, sad statement. Anybody who understands Parkinson's disease knows it's because of the medicine that one experiences" involuntary movements like those Fox shows in the commercial.

You know we like to keep this site friendly but sometimes we need to get nasty when we are upset by what happened.

on another note...i would think catholics..watching the last pope die a horrible death from parkinsons would be more sympathetic on this issue. he was one of the greatest popes they had...and think how much work he could have done towards tolerance between the 3 major world religions if we would have had stem cell research. its sad...

Sorry to hear about your dad hapagirl, but one thing A--hole Limbaugh did do in his ignorance, is put the spotlight on this issue, which could end up being a really good thing, he may have helped when he was trying to do the opposite. maybe there's a use for idiots like him.

I saw RL and what he said, and I honestly do not think it is worth all this hoo-ha. What is worth the conversation is the topic, but RL, in my eyes, was just talking.

is this a repost, I commented on MJF/Rush earlier but I don't see my earlier comment now. Weird. ~Canada, The only country to gain its Independance, By Asking Nicely~

Only the second time you've seen something misquoted on here?! Thats pretty good! lol I understand what you're saying, but RL should have shown the clip of the ad, not imitated it then. How did he expect that choice to come off looking good. And saying MJF is an actor isn't much different than saying he's acting. He should have stuck with the issue of StemCell research instead of focusing on the ad. He just ends up looking like the giant ass he is. ~Canada, The only country to gain its Independance, By Asking Nicely~

He wasn't making fun of MJF and one of the quotes is wrong. This is 2nd time I've seen something quote wrong on here. I mean if you are going to quote then make it an actual quote and don't use People as your source. I was listening to his show when he said all this. Rush never said it was an "act", he said MJF must be "acting" because he is an actor and Rush had never seen him shake like that. Now I'm not saying Rush isn't a jerk some times because the first thing I thought of was "Rush! He's off his freakin' meds you dumba$$". This all goes back to Rush being out-of-touch about certain things. All he knew is that he has seen MJF perform on TV shows recently and didn't act like this. The next day, he said he understood that MJF was off his meds. All that said, everything he said was taken out of context and he was never making fun of MJF. The flack he has caught for imitating MJF isn't justified either. He was showing his viewers what he saw on the commercial. It is funny how the same people that are shooting Rush down for having an opinion are the same folks who typically support people like the Dixie Chicks' freedom of speech and think it is okay to make movies about killing the current President. It always has to go one way...

the fact is cas, is that without those amendments it creates loopholes in the stem reasearch laws, without cloning the blastocysts they cannot possibly get enough embryos to do the kind of testing that needs to be done. and if a woman wants to harvest her eggs for god knows what reason, she should be able to. a man can donate sperm, right?
Casimira Casimira 10 years
And I guess I'll throw my two cents in as well. My main problem with this amendment is that I think it's written to be deceptive. (Don't worry--I'm not just spewing talking points--I'll explain :) ) Section 38(d)2(1) says: "No person may clone or attempt to clone a human being" Section 38(d)6(2) narrows the definition: “Clone or attempt to clone a human being” means to implant in a uterus or attempt to implant in a uterus anything other than the product of fertilization of an egg of a human female by a sperm of a human male for the purpose of initiating a pregnancy that could result in the creation of a human fetus, or the birth of a human being. What I take that to mean is that no person may implant in a uterus or attempt to implant in a uterus....etc etc. But if an environment outside of a uterus could nurture a blastocyst along, would that be acceptable? According to this amendment, I think it would be legal. Section 38(d)2(4) says: No person may, for valuable consideration, purchase or sell human blastocysts or eggs for stem cell research or stem cell therapies and cures. People like this part because it means that poor women can't be tricked into selling their eggs, right? But... Section 38(d)6(17) goes on to list all the things that can be "reasonably reimbursed." What's reasonable to a woman who needs to feed her kids and doesn't know where her next paycheck is coming from? What's reasonable to a woman who is trying to get through college without going broke? Since there's no "reasonable and customary" on egg harvesting, this leaves a pretty big loophole open. Bottom line: Would I love to see Michael J. Fox cured? Would I love to see tox and both her eyes smiling at us? Absolutely. Do I think this particular amendment is the way to make that happen? Absolutely not.

What a complete and total d**k. WE used to visit a priest who had Parkinson's and we saw first hand what it did to him and though I am a hardcore Catholic and all I believe in stem cell research because there are so many people's lives that can be saved through this research, parents could see their kids grow up and I feel it is so unfair that these decisions are controlled by a bunch of hypocritcal people who have nothing better to do than waste tax payers money making stupid decisions that ultimately cost a country when they could make a ecision that could save one. This f-ing annoys the crap out of me.
