Jul 11 2016 - 9:20am

In addition to being extremely easy on the eyes [1] and an avid dog lover [2], Scott Eastwood is also working to save the oceans. The actor has teamed up with Davidoff Cool Water and National Geographic for the Pristine Seas Project [3] to protect marine environments across the globe. On Sunday, he participated in the Ocean Beach Pier Cleanup in San Diego, and POPSUGAR got the chance to chat with him about his campaign and his latest projects, including Suicide Squad and Fast 8. Scott has been the face of Davidoff Cool Water since 2015, and in a previous statement [4], he said, "The ocean has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I'm proud to be the face of the fragrance that is synonymous with that lifestyle." Read on for the full interview, then celebrate Scott's perfection by scrolling through his best shirtless moments [5].

POPSUGAR: You participated in the Ocean Beach Pier Cleanup in San Diego today. Why does the Love the Ocean Campaign mean so much to you?
Scott Eastwood: We're doing this great campaign with Davidoff Cool Water and the National Geographic called the Pristine Seas Project and it's been going on for the last five years. Every bottle of Cool Water sold goes to protect 10,000 square meters of ocean. So to give you just a reference, where we are today, only two percent of the world's oceans are actively protected, so that's a very, very small number. As a goal with this partnership, by 2020 to protect 10 percent of the world's oceans.

PS: What is the biggest thing you hope people learn from the campaign?
SE: I guess the biggest thing is that we all be a part of the solution. Everything from taking 20 minutes out of your day to organize an event like this whether you're at a beach or not, in your local community, or being conscious of the decisions we make. When you go to a restaurant, "Do I need to drive? Do I need to use plastic? Do you guys have paper containers instead of plastic?" Just being educated in the choices we have.

PS: You're also a big water sports guy. Now that it's Summer, what do you love most about being at the beach?
SE: Everything really. I love the ocean. The ocean is somewhere where I can just forget about any of the bullsh*t going on in my life.

PS: Not only are you are helping protect the ocean, but you also have the release of Suicide Squad coming up. What was it like working with such a rock-star cast?
SE: It was awesome! Margot Robbie is not only a rock star, but she's just a nice, down-to-earth person. Will Smith [6] is the heart of that movie and he's just such a nice guy on screen and off, so I had a great time with those two.

PS: What is your favorite memory with the cast?
SE: We had some fun — at the time we weren't — we shot at night in Toronto and we shot a bunch of sequences that were under rain showers for a week on in, so it was cold and wet, but now thinking about it, it's funny, but when we were doing it it wasn't fun, but I think it'll look great on film.

PS: In addition to Suicide Squad, you were also cast in Fast 8. Now that production is underway, how has your experience been shooting the film?
SE: It's been amazing. It's been unbelievable. They've just accepted me, which is really, really nice.

PS: What actors or actresses would you like to work with next?
SE: I would love to work with Leo [DiCaprio]. I really like Alicia Vikander, she's amazing.
