Selena Gomez [1] took a meaningful trip to Children's Mercy Hospital [2] in Kansas City, MO, on Friday. The 26-year-old singer hung out with a group of fans in celebration of the hospital's Big Slick 2019 Celebrity Weekend [3]. She first met with some of the patients at the health center to chat, play games, and pose for a few pictures before participating in a friendly game of softball to raise money for pediatric research [4]. Other stars such as Paul Rudd [5], Jason Sudeikis, Ariel Winter, and Eric Stonestreet also took part in the fun-filled weekend.
In one video posted on singer Chris Daughtry's Instagram story [6], Selena — rocking a Kansas Royals jersey — jokes that she couldn't win a softball game alone, but thankfully has a whole team to work with. "I'm not gonna win, but maybe we are," she says in the clip.
Children's Mercy Hospital also posted a gallery of photos from the event [7] and celebrity visits, writing, "What a wonderful way to kick off Big Slick weekend!! Thank you to @RobRiggle, Paul Rudd, Jason Sudeikis, @davidkoechner, @ericstonestreet and all of their friends for brightening our kids' day and raising a ton of money for pediatric research!!"
Evidently, this was a weekend to remember for everyone!
