Does anyone fid it odd that not a single Indian designer was featured on the cover? So many of them are showing at all the major Fashion Weeks and not one makes the inaugralissue of the mag...Since the used a foreign model...they should have done a mix up and have her wear an Indian designer...ant thoughts?

I love Bipasha! And I agree, the blonde doesn't fit in the pic. They could've used Aishwarya Rai...she's gorgeous!

In India and most of Asia for that matter, light women do not tan. At all.

it's funny how those that are dark.. go through skin lightening.. and those of use that are naturally white... try to darken our skin... curly vs straight.. light vs dark.. crazy.

SoftRockStar, I was actually surprised that one of the models isn't extra light. Baby steps I suppose. The only people who are going to appear will be overwhelmingly lighter skinned because that is what EVERYONE in the country perceives to be beautiful and these are also going to be the people buying Vogue. In a country where "skin whitening" is common and desirable, of course the models will be lighter.

Ha! Let's see how many Indians (in all their hues and ethnicities) appear on the cover of this magazine.

totally agree with ethiopian_princess. it's like vogue is saying that indian women aren't attractive enough on their own. really offensive.

Why would you stick that plain white girl (no offense, plain white girls) in the middle of two gorgeous Indian models on the cover of the inaugural issue of Vogue?! IF you were going to pick someone non-Indian to put on the cover, make it someone who is beautiful by their standards, not some very replaceable soulless toothpick. Gemma Ward is not special. Either one of those models alone with the whole dress showing would have been great.

But Priyanka and Bispashu can look good on their own, they don't need blondie in the middle. :(
