Taylor Swift made a stunning arrival at the Country Music Association Awards in Nashville on Wednesday night. She hit the red carpet in a red Elie Saab ball gown and matching lipstick, staying true to the title of her hit album Red. Taylor had a lot to be excited about this evening, as she was nominated for six awards, including entertainer of the year. During the ceremony, she performed with legendary singer Vince Gill and was also presented with the CMA pinnacle award by none other than Julia Roberts. In a recorded video message, the actress jokingly told Taylor to "take a vacation" while giving her the honor before Taylor's famous friends Ellen DeGeneres, Reese Witherspoon, and Justin Timberlake also appeared on screen to congratulate her. The esteemed award credits "artists who have taken music by storm worldwide," and over the past year, Taylor has done just that — Red was one of the bestselling albums of 2012, and the accompanying North American tour has raked in more that $100 million so far.
If her supersuccessful music career wasn't enough, Taylor has also been bitten by the acting bug recently. She has a supporting role in the film adaptation of Lois Lowry's classic children's book The Giver and stars alongside Jeff Bridges, Katie Holmes, and Meryl Streep in the movie. Taylor spent most of October shooting the fantasy drama in South Africa and has said about the experience, "It was unreal." Taylor will soon be heading back overseas as she continues her Red tour in Australia and Europe later this month.
