Tom Brady was in NYC yesterday to participate in a press conference with the brand Under Armour. Tom's one of their athlete spokespeople, and he linked up with UA's other faces, skier Lindsey Vonn and basketball player Kemba Walker, to launch the new line of Spine running shoes. Tom spent the day working while his wife Gisele Bundchen did the same. Gisele's in Brazil tackling modeling projects for the next few days.
After a presentation lead by UA CEO Kevin Plank, Tom and the gang took the stage for a quick Q&A session. Tom touched on how tough it is for him in NYC as the quarterback of the New England Patriots, and even joked about the critical reception to his Funny or Die video. Tom was even asked if Gisele is pregnant with their second child, and the athlete replied, "I like working on it."
Here are more highlights from Tom at the launch:
- On spending the day in NYC: "I love New York. Jets Fans, Giants Fans . . . I'm really welcomed here. Subway rides — I really enjoy those. Trying to get a cab in this city can be tough for me. We usually come here to play. It's actually nice to be here on a beautiful, Summer day to unveil something special for this company."
- On the importance of his shoes: "As an athlete, your movement, your ability to execute on the field is based around your performance. As a performance-based business is what we're in, when you have the right products on and you feel good about what you're wearing, you'll perform at your best."
- On his Funny or Die video: "I probably had more compliments on that video than I did on my last football season."
