The World Honors Veterans With Moving Memorials
In honor of Veterans Day and Armistice Day, people across the globe paid tribute to servicemen and servicewomen on Monday. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama visited Arlington National Ceremony in Virginia, participating in a wreath-laying ceremony to recognize fallen soldiers. There, a 101-year-old man believed to be the oldest American World War II veteran was honored by the president and applauded by the crowd. Meanwhile, across the pond, people at Lloyd's of London observed a moment of silence, French President Francois Hollande spent time with troops, and in Australia, popular cricket players stepped out for a ceremony in Sydney.
