Jane Zhang has finally become buzzed-about in the United States ever since she was announced as a performer in the 2017 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, but who is this radiant rockstar? The singer-songwriter has been up and coming in the music world for a while, proving to be a vocal powerhouse throughout her six studio albums, which includes the one she's working on right now. Popular throughout Asia, especially in her home country of China, Jane is now on the rise to worldwide pop stardom. Learn more about her with the below fun facts!

1. She had her first taste of fame when she competed in the singing competition show, Super Girl.

Back in 2005, she earned third place in a popular all-female Chinese singing content, Super Girl. Despite her loss, this was her first big break, and the start of her professional music career. Following the show, she went on to sign a record deal with Huayi Music.

2. She has collaborated with artists like Timbaland and Big Sean.

She collaborated with rapper Big Sean for "Fighting Shadows" for fantasy flick Terminator Genisys, in 2015. Then, a year later, she recorded her smash hit single "Dust My Shoulders Off" with triple-threat rapper, singer-songwriter, and master producer, Timbaland, who is also executive producing her next album.

3. She appeared on Oprah back in 2009!

Oprah found out about Super Girl and described Jane as the "breakout superstar" of the reality television show. Jane performed on the show but wouldn't go on to make her U.S. debut until much later, with "Dust My Shoulders Off" in 2016.

4. She has humble beginnings

Something that Oprah touched on during her appearance was how Jane started singing. (You might want to get the tissues ready.) Following the sudden death of her father, Jane and her mother were left completely penniless. She then took an after-school singing position at a pub, in order to earn money for her family.

5. She is nicknamed the "Dolphin Princess"

Because of her stunning, spectacular high notes, she was given the appropriate nickname of the "Dolphin Princess" while competing on Super Girl.
